In their SA20 2024 final match versus Durban's Super Giants, Sunrisers Eastern Cape gave a fantastic showing.
On Saturday, February 10, both teams competed in the event final at the Newlands in Cape Town, and the Sunrisers, headed by Aiden Markram, played a remarkable performance to win another SA20 championship.
After Sunrisers won the championship for the second consecutive year, Kavya Maran, the franchise's CEO, was overjoyed and could not contain her excitement. Maran expressed her satisfaction and gave the side a lot of credit for their performance.
“Second cup, back-to-back, two in a row, so glad and happy, I mean the best performance by the team with the bat and the ball, and I think we have been dominating this whole season and to finally get this through the end of the year, unbelievable to be winning it back-to-back, so happy for the guys and everyone has been putting in a great show and a very strong team that we played against today but happy to get the win at the end of the day,” Kavya Maran said after the match.
It is noteworthy that Markram amassed 42 runs in just 26 deliveries, remaining unbeaten, which enabled his team to put up a high total and ultimately win another title.
