Tuesday's thrilling end to the first Test of the five-match Ashes series saw Australia defeat England by two wickets.
The visitors, who were given a 281 win target, started the fifth day of a rain-delayed match on 107 for three, but their hopes seemed slim when they fell to 227-8. However, Australia was able to win in a climax of suffocating suspense thanks to the captain Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon's outstanding partnership. Australia gained a 1-0 lead in the first Test of the current Ashes 2023 thanks to Cummins' unbeaten 44-run performance for his team.
